The DNR is has been under a lot of political pressure to ease up on industry.
Staff has been cut and will probably be cut further so be nice to these guys when you talk to them.
I got a lot of good material from them and will put it up here ASAP.

There are zoning issues. We must prevail. DNR does not kill projects but makes them work. All projects must be KILLED at the LOCAL level so it is up to citizens to be really active and involved in KILLING this project.
Currently the project should not be proceeding. There are at least 2 permits that need to be issued: 1) wetland fill permit (by the stockpile); 2) non-metallic mine permit on Louis Hebert’s land so they can get fill for wetland. The driveway is the only permit they have.
The DNR has gone round and round on the wetland issues with CSP. Wetland can be degraded and replaced probably at the Legacy Bogs east of Stevens Point. If application does come to DNR to do that, Madison has to be involved in the mitigation. There is no public notice requirement so public is not involved.
